PCCCI - Facade Design

The PCCCI Façade Design for the Dewan Perniagaan dan Perindustrian China Penampang Sabah represents a contemporary interpretation of Chinese cultural identity harmoniously integrated with modern architectural expression. The design aspires to project a strong civic image that embodies the values of unity, prosperity, and progress — reflecting the Chamber’s role as a bridge between culture, commerce, and community.

Conceptually, the façade draws inspiration from traditional Chinese motifs such as interlocking patterns and rhythmic symmetry, reinterpreted through modern materials like aluminium, composite panels, and perforated metal screens. These elements create a dynamic visual composition that responds to light and shadow throughout the day, symbolizing transparency, resilience, and continual growth.

The façade is designed not merely as an aesthetic skin but as a functional climatic filter. Sun-shading devices and ventilated layers reduce solar gain while maintaining natural illumination, contributing to energy efficiency and user comfort.
